I remember when the rock hall turned KISS away for ABBA when ABBA is not even a band and KISS(In my opinion, and most likely many others) is better.I just hope they won't do that to Alice Cooper with everything he's done. Does anyone else feel the same?|||It's already been announced that Alice will get inducted. Out of the list that was nominated though, he was the only one I really wanted in. :)|||Just as long as KISS and I think Leon Russel isn't in there either... he should be if not--especially over Bon Jovi. Yuck.
As long as Tom Petty's already in there I'm happy! Hee hee.

Could you class Green Day as Rock and Roll?
I'm not sure what exactly 'rock and roll' is.. But in our music class we have to play a rock and roll song on the guitar/keyboard or whatever. I only know Green Day and MCR songs properly. So could you class Green Day as rock and roll? At all?|||Green Day is Pop Punk
Pop Punk is a sub-genre of Punk
Punk is a sub-genre of Rock and Roll
so technically yes|||No. Green Day's pop punk. And MCR isn't either.
This is rock 'n' roll : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6py6hKjKw鈥?/a>|||it is slightly more pop punk but i'm sure you can get away with it, i mean classics like basket case or welcome t paradise even minority will always get fists in the air so go for it|||I never classified them as "Rock and Roll" I think of them as more "Punk Rock", but most people beg to differ.|||Pop punk dude. Their old stuff was great, but i hope their new stuff sounds a little more like their old stuff.|||More like pop punk|||It's more pop punk. ;p

I need about how Elvis changed Rock and Roll?
Ok a few friends and I are doing a project about how Elvis changed Rock and Roll. I already know that he had a different type of music however if you know any additional information that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise just a good website about it would help and not just about elvis in general. If your just doing this for the points then your not helping so please just answer if you know things about elvis. Thank you for people who are actually helping.|||He changed and made rock n roll just new!
He had used three types of backbeats for his music.. Those backbeats were of:-
Blues.
Gospel.
Country.
With it's fusion, he made rock n roll.
Rockabilly is different thing.. Yes it is 100% clear that Elvis invented it, but it's different.. He had used three types of backbeats here too, but bit different. Those backbeats were of:-
Rhythm and blues
Hillbilly music
Country
Hope it helped you.|||He was a white man, singing black mans music! He was doing dance moves that Ed Sulivan banned on his show, they kept the camera above his waist.
He was a rebel of his time.|||This might help you
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presl鈥?/a>|||Well, he did incorporate more country into his "rock" than rock and roll artists were willing to do.
As an example, take Elvis' cover of "Guitar Man." That song was written by country guitar great Jerry Reed. Not only that, but Jerry Reed even played guitar on Elvis' version since Elvis' guitarist couldn't play like Jerry Reed (finger picking kind of playing).
Oh, and I'd consider Elvis more rockabilly than rock and roll.|||HE DID NOT IMPROVE HE MADE ROCK N ROLL AHAH IDK?

How did rock and roll in the 1950's affect our lives today? EASY 10 POINTS!!!?
Also, if you know anything else about rock and roll back then, you can answer that too:)
Thanks!|||Rock and roll is a prime example of they way music effects our lives. Who knows, if Alan Freed and Leo Mintz had not started the one of the biggest raves of the 20th century, the American market may not have become what it is today; youth oriented. Rock music was aimed at the younger generation, therefore; teens and young adults became the primary consumers of rock and roll records. Teenagers were and still are more easily persuaded than adults due to lack of life experience. When teens began buying rock and roll records by the millions, other companies began advertising their products to teenagers. Rock music has played a key roll in helping to keep the American economy booming. Rock and roll has been the most popular type of music for nearly 40 years. The music that was listened to by the teens of the exciting decade of the 50's is still loved by the generation X teens of today. It cannot be argued the Dick Clark explained it best when he said, The beat of the Fabulous 50's goes on!|||Popularityof late 50's R%26amp;R was a respons to the up tight post war constipated conformity of the time.
Got a little freedom of expression going as well as social change.
Reflected the climate of the times as does music in general.
Kids were cutting loose %26amp; 'exploring"just as they did in the 20's %26amp; 30's.
Personally did not care for early R%26amp;R ,doo-wop or Elvis for that matter.
60's rock %26amp; R%26amp;B is another story ; still around %26amp; going strong .
Young adult then %26amp; aside from nostalgia is the best in my opinion for the same reasons as early Rock; a reflection of the times.
Far as I'm concerned, not too much going on since then.
Best regards|||Clash and Led were 20 years later. Bill Haley and the Comet's "Rock Around the Clock" was one of the first "rock" songs. Soon, Rock and Country were mixing as Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presely were on tour- together! What a show that would have been!|||The clash was one of the number one influences, it wasnt necessarily rock but it set the stage for defiance in future music like rage against the machine.
And Led Zeppelin, but words cant describe the influence of led.
Hahahaha|||Rock and Roll created a time where black music was sung by white singers. It kind of brought the races together ...(ELvis is an example) Besides that because of that is the reason we have this music today|||It set the stage for music today!!|||depending on your age your parents or maybe even you were conceived while rock was playing!|||no have no idea.|||i was born:)

Would my sons enjoy the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?
They will be ages 12 %26amp; 11 when we drive through Ohio during our next summer vacation. They have passing interests in music, mainly newer bands, but also enjoy some of the rock music I listened to growing up and still listen to.|||Yes, they will enjoy it. They have so many exhibits that will not bore them, and many short movies of some genre of music (the Soul Train etc). And there is a theater that shows all the Rock Hall inductees, their performances etc. I think they will have a wonderful experience visiting this museum. My son who is 11 and his cousins enjoy their time there.|||yes--the rock hall does agood job of including oldies as well as new artists|||It's hard to predict that. I liked it when I went there about 4 years ago, but they may have changed some of their exhibits since then.|||I doubt it, but check their web site to see what they have going on the week you're going out there. They may have something that they will find interesting.
Can you give me ten or twenty reasons why rock and roll ain't noise pollution?

Hey there, all you middle men
Throw away your fancy clothes
And while you're out there sittin' on a fence
So get off your *** and come down here
'Cause rock 'n' roll ain't no riddle man
To me it makes good, good sense

Ow
Oooh yeah
Heavy decibels are playing on my guitar
We got vibrations coming up from the floor
We're just listening to the rock that's giving too much noise

Rock 'n' roll ain't noise pollution
Rock 'n' roll ain't gonna die
Rock 'n' roll ain't noise pollution

Is rock and roll considered rock or pop?
Im doing a project and im a bit confused. I would assume rock and roll is rock because of the name but people keep saying it with pop music. Can someone clarify?|||pop is short for "popular." so rock can be both.|||Well, reaaally, it's either, although that doesn't help. I'll explain, its all rock, but the popular stuff can be in pop as well. Pop only stands for popular, so any genre can also be pop music, like the red hot chilli peppers, they're pop, but rock too.
Genres are a total pain, I usually ignore them, people get so many stupid ones invented, just look at the sub genres of metal or something..

1.2 Death metal
1.3 Doom metal
1.4 Drone metal
