Is anyone hoping for Alice Cooper to get into the rock and roll hall of fame?

I remember when the rock hall turned KISS away for ABBA when ABBA is not even a band and KISS(In my opinion, and most likely many others) is better.I just hope they won't do that to Alice Cooper with everything he's done. Does anyone else feel the same?|||It's already been announced that Alice will get inducted. Out of the list that was nominated though, he was the only one I really wanted in. :)|||Just as long as KISS and I think Leon Russel isn't in there either... he should be if not--especially over Bon Jovi. Yuck.

As long as Tom Petty's already in there I'm happy! Hee hee.

Could you class Green Day as Rock and Roll?

I'm not sure what exactly 'rock and roll' is.. But in our music class we have to play a rock and roll song on the guitar/keyboard or whatever. I only know Green Day and MCR songs properly. So could you class Green Day as rock and roll? At all?|||Green Day is Pop Punk

Pop Punk is a sub-genre of Punk

Punk is a sub-genre of Rock and Roll

so technically yes|||No. Green Day's pop punk. And MCR isn't either.

Their old stuff was great, but i hope their new stuff sounds a little more like their old stuff.|||More like pop punk|||It's more pop punk. ;p

I need about how Elvis changed Rock and Roll?

Ok a few friends and I are doing a project about how Elvis changed Rock and Roll. I already know that he had a different type of music however if you know any additional information that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise just a good website about it would help and not just about elvis in general. If your just doing this for the points then your not helping so please just answer if you know things about elvis. Thank you for people who are actually helping.|||He changed and made rock n roll just new!

He had used three types of backbeats for his music.. Those backbeats were of:-

Blues.

Gospel.

Country.

With it's fusion, he made rock n roll.

Rockabilly is different thing.. Yes it is 100% clear that Elvis invented it, but it's different.. He had used three types of backbeats here too, but bit different. Those backbeats were of:-

Rhythm and blues

Hillbilly music

Country

Hope it helped you.|||He was a white man, singing black mans music! He was doing dance moves that Ed Sulivan banned on his show, they kept the camera above his waist.

He was a rebel of his time.|||This might help you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presl鈥?/a>|||Well, he did incorporate more country into his "rock" than rock and roll artists were willing to do.

As an example, take Elvis' cover of "Guitar Man." That song was written by country guitar great Jerry Reed. Not only that, but Jerry Reed even played guitar on Elvis' version since Elvis' guitarist couldn't play like Jerry Reed (finger picking kind of playing).

Oh, and I'd consider Elvis more rockabilly than rock and roll.|||HE DID NOT IMPROVE HE MADE ROCK N ROLL AHAH IDK?

How did rock and roll in the 1950's affect our lives today? EASY 10 POINTS!!!?

Also, if you know anything else about rock and roll back then, you can answer that too:)

Thanks!|||Rock and roll is a prime example of they way music effects our lives. Who knows, if Alan Freed and Leo Mintz had not started the one of the biggest raves of the 20th century, the American market may not have become what it is today; youth oriented. Rock music was aimed at the younger generation, therefore; teens and young adults became the primary consumers of rock and roll records. Teenagers were and still are more easily persuaded than adults due to lack of life experience. When teens began buying rock and roll records by the millions, other companies began advertising their products to teenagers. Rock music has played a key roll in helping to keep the American economy booming. Rock and roll has been the most popular type of music for nearly 40 years. The music that was listened to by the teens of the exciting decade of the 50's is still loved by the generation X teens of today. It cannot be argued the Dick Clark explained it best when he said, The beat of the Fabulous 50's goes on!|||Popularityof late 50's R%26amp;R was a respons to the up tight post war constipated conformity of the time.

Got a little freedom of expression going as well as social change.

Reflected the climate of the times as does music in general.

Kids were cutting loose %26amp; 'exploring"just as they did in the 20's %26amp; 30's.

Personally did not care for early R%26amp;R ,doo-wop or Elvis for that matter.

60's rock %26amp; R%26amp;B is another story ; still around %26amp; going strong .

Young adult then %26amp; aside from nostalgia is the best in my opinion for the same reasons as early Rock; a reflection of the times.

Far as I'm concerned, not too much going on since then.

Best regards|||Clash and Led were 20 years later. Bill Haley and the Comet's "Rock Around the Clock" was one of the first "rock" songs. Soon, Rock and Country were mixing as Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presely were on tour- together! What a show that would have been!|||The clash was one of the number one influences, it wasnt necessarily rock but it set the stage for defiance in future music like rage against the machine.

And Led Zeppelin, but words cant describe the influence of led.

Hahahaha|||Rock and Roll created a time where black music was sung by white singers. It kind of brought the races together ...(ELvis is an example) Besides that because of that is the reason we have this music today|||It set the stage for music today!!|||depending on your age your parents or maybe even you were conceived while rock was playing!|||no have no idea.|||i was born:)

Would my sons enjoy the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?

They will be ages 12 %26amp; 11 when we drive through Ohio during our next summer vacation. They have passing interests in music, mainly newer bands, but also enjoy some of the rock music I listened to growing up and still listen to.|||Yes, they will enjoy it. They have so many exhibits that will not bore them, and many short movies of some genre of music (the Soul Train etc). And there is a theater that shows all the Rock Hall inductees, their performances etc. I think they will have a wonderful experience visiting this museum. My son who is 11 and his cousins enjoy their time there.|||yes--the rock hall does agood job of including oldies as well as new artists|||It's hard to predict that. I liked it when I went there about 4 years ago, but they may have changed some of their exhibits since then.|||I doubt it, but check their web site to see what they have going on the week you're going out there. They may have something that they will find interesting.

Is rock and roll considered rock or pop?

Im doing a project and im a bit confused. I would assume rock and roll is rock because of the name but people keep saying it with pop music. Can someone clarify?|||pop is short for "popular." so rock can be both.|||Well, reaaally, it's either, although that doesn't help. I'll explain, its all rock, but the popular stuff can be in pop as well. Pop only stands for popular, so any genre can also be pop music, like the red hot chilli peppers, they're pop, but rock too.

Genres are a total pain, I usually ignore them, people get so many stupid ones invented, just look at the sub genres of metal or something..

Which of these two bands are more rock and roll?

Pink Floyd or The Rolling Stones? I'm not necessarily asking for which one is better, unless you want to give your opinion. but i'm wondering which one is more known as being rock and roll?|||Pink Floyd = progressive rock / psychedelic rock

Rolling Stones = good ol' fashioned rock and roll.|||The easiest way to answer this is to think of the Rolling Stones song "Satisfaction." It's a classic that's endured for 40 years. What band sang, "It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it..." Yep, the Rolling Stones.

I grew up with both bands. I love both bands. Pink Floyd IS a rock band, but it's more about mood, about atmospherics, ambience, playing with sound. Their music is exploratory. It's great for smoking pot to. Give a listen to Ummagumma. Wow. Towards the end, David Gilmour and Roger Waters really went in different directions. Gilmour favored the more delicate, well-constructed songs. Waters (who was the driving force behind The Wall) became more angry and political. Their diverging attitudes is what brought about the demise of Pink Floyd as we knew it in its original incarnation.

The Rolling Stones have, well, always been about rock 'n' roll. Whether it's the rock hits from the '60s, to the rock of Exile on Main Street or Sticky Fingers, up to the most recent A Bigger Bang, the Rolling Stones have been about ROCK. Not politics, not emotional angst, not alienation, but about love, sex, music, cars, girls, rebellion, raising hell, partying -- all the essentials that are the engine that drives true rock 'n' roll.

So, yes, I love Pink Floyd, but if I want some true rock 'n' roll, I'll let the Rolling Stones "Start Me Up!"

(I can't get no...............SATISFACTION!)|||The Rolling Stones... by far. They're pretty much the definitive rock and roll band.

Pink Floyd is one of the less "rock and roll" of the classic rock bands, along with other progressive rock, which takes more influence from jazz and classical than the blues, country, soul, and folk of the Stones.|||Rolling Stones are more Rock and Roll

Pink Floyd is Progressive Rock

So while the Stones are back with the roots of Rock Pink Floyd sort of pushed the envelope and expiremented with different sounds that moved further away from what we call Rock and Roll|||The Rolling Stones is defiantly rock 'n' roll.

Pink Floyd is considered to be under the rock category but its not true rock n roll.|||Pink Floyd had much more Psych/ Progressive qualities to their music than the Stones did, though the group did deliver some psychedelic qualities to Their Satanic Majesties Request, which is an album of theirs.|||Rolling Stones is a more typical rock and roll band. Pink Floyd is really in a category of its own. That is what makes them so damn good.|||The Rolling Stones,Pink Floyd is more there own think but in my opinion the stones define rock along with zeppelin|||rolling stones just when u hear that name ur like ROCK ON! but yea pink floid is cool but i think the rolling stones are more rock and roll|||Rolling Stones

HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL

This is a brief section on the history of rock and roll. If you are a Christian and you don't realize that secular rock is evil and demonic then you better get your spiritual eyes examined because you have big problems. One distressing problem about the religious rock scene is that many involved also listen to secular rock and roll. At some of the concerts put on by the religious rockers they sometime "warm" up their audiences by playing secular rock and roll songs.

As you read the history of rock and roll, observe how Satan brought in his rock music in the 1950's and slowly degenerated it to it's present level of baseness. Watch how Satan slowly turned up his bunsen burner until his music developed to it's present low. The following information was taken from a chart from Freedom Village U.S.A. called History of rock and roll, Major influence chart.

Early Rock: Mid 50's - Early 60's

Message: Seemingly harmless music and lyrics promoted "good times". Also promoted dancing the new dance fads. "Teen Idols" were worshiped by teenage girls and being "cool" was in for boys. The stage was being set for rebellion by the "greaser" image. Music: Blend of "Big Band" with its powerful physical dance influence and "rhythm and blues", based on African rhythm patterns. Tempos and rhythm patterns were smooth and "catchy". Melodies created a very whimsical "Happy Days" atmosphere.

Main Performers: Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and The Comets, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Platters, Four Seasons, Smokey Robinson %26amp; the Miracles, and James Brown.

|||I would have to agree, and say sometime in the late 1940's, early 1950's when Rockabilly became popular. A lot of parents and religious people disagreed with it and wouldn't allow their children to listen to it as most Rockabilly was sort of big in drugs, drinking, sex etc. Most of it was pretty rebellious. Such as Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry (especially because he was a black rock n roll musician) Elvis especially, I believe, because portrayed some kind of sex symbol with the way he danced and how people were so attracted to him back then.

Rockabilly was followed by stuff like The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc. Which was followed by Kiss, AC/DC, and punk rock, which was followed by 80's metal. There were more types of music in between, but I'm just giving examples of most of the ones that were looked down on by a lot of people.

That's my little insight.|||The uptight ones. Sorry I don't know the names of these particular people. There were a lot of them in the fifties and sixties and I'm not sure anyone knows who coined the phrase "rock and roll is evil."|||George and Ethyl Buzzfarmer. 1951. "Desert Rose" is a single by Sting from his album Brand New Day (1999). The song peaked at #15 in the UK Singles Chart and #17 in the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song is noted for Sting's duet performance with Algerian ra茂 singer Cheb Mami, creating a distinct world music feel to the song. It also has a popular music video featuring Sting taking a trip through the desert in a Jaguar S-Type and then going to a nightclub to perform the song with Cheb Mami. After shooting the video, Sting's manager Miles Copeland III approached Jaguar about a collaboration, and the auto company featured the video in their prominent television advertisements during the year 2000.

How come Kiss isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame?

Why isn't Kiss in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame? Kiss is a legend!|||Hello there,

After 15 years of being snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the disgrace is on the Hall and not on Kiss. Of course there are many great rock bands that are not in there. There are many folks in there who are not great rock performers. So, to me and a great many others, the HOF is meaningless, something that should be covered only on the local Cleveland news. Kiss is one of the biggest rock bands of all time and they are not in the HOF. That is a joke. A bad joke on the HOF.

Later,|||The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is supposed to be about the artists having musical talent. One thing about Kiss is that they will tell you that they are awful. Therefore, lacking in musical talent. And I don't mean to bash their fans or anything but I don't think Kiss is that good. Also, it kinda makes their story better if they've been around that long and haven't gotten in. Maybe now that Alice Cooper is getting inducted, they will afterward...|||They have no staying power really who likes KISS anymore let alone in another 20 years? They are sellouts, pretty much if it makes money KISS is on it. Oh and KISS were very talented, I think folks just had to see what kind of live show they could put on to appreciate them.|||perhaps that honor is reserved for bands who can write songs with deeper and more meaningful lyrics than "I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day".|||Because, under the make-up KISS are:

Are Rock and rock and roll the same thing?

This guy was telling me that rock and rock and roll are different styles of music is this correct?|||Although Rock was originally just a shortened term for Rock N' Roll, they've come to mean different things. Why is there a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

What is its purpose, do the bands get anything for entering? And why does it induct people whose music isn't rock or metal?|||the founder and publisher of rolling stone jann wenner needed a place to house his personal fan club for bands that he likes. he then came up with the concept of a rock and roll hall of fame to house his rock and roll memorabilia and to fleece the pockets of aging baby boomers and young people who still believe rolling stone magazine to be relevant.|||Hello there

$$ that is the answer. Cleveland makes money having folks some see the HOF. It does not matter how good or bad the HOF really is. There will be folks who come to see it and then spend $$ in Cleveland.

From a rock standpoint, who gets into the HOF is a puzzle.

None of these are in there:

KISS

Depeche Mode

The Cure

Chicago

Hall and Oates

Rush

Alice Cooper

Moody Blues

E.L.O.

Cheap Trick

Bad Company

Peter Frampton

Heart

T-Rex

Bon Jovi

Journey

Foreigner

Public Enemy

Red Hot Chili Peppers (this was their first year of eligibility)

Yet there are a some entertainers who I do not consider to be rock who are in there. I was not a KISS fan, but I acknowledge that they were one of they have one of the biggest followings of any rock band. They were extremely influential in their prime. Yet afte 15 years of eligibility, KISS is not in there. Even George Harrison, individually, did not get into the HOF until 2004, Yep they only thought about him after he was dead. Man if they can miss George Harrison for all that time, and if they continue to miss KISS for all these years, just how the selections are made is a puzzle.

How to sing rock and roll?

I play rhythm guitar in a band and we all agreed that if I could improve I would be lead singer but I don't know how to improve on my own. We play classic rock and roll. Any tips on how to improve my voice because Right now I couldn't sing to save my life. My goal is to sound somewhat like Joan Jett and eventually develop my own style...|||Having not heard you that's hard to give, but here's some general things that may be messing you up.

Stay on key, that is of course crucial.

Sing from the gut not the throat, project your voice, your not talking loudly your SINGING and to do that requires using the diaphram.

Timing, It's really rough singing, I remember taking the mic a few times and what seemed like easy songs felt like I was slip sliding on glass timing wise. On guitar or bass I'd know RIGHT where I was, vocals it's a little harder and timing is crucial no matter what you play.

Own anything you sing. There are a few people who can mimic others, but most people's voices just sound aweful when they try to sing like somebody else. Sing it YOUR way. Vocals are the core of most genre's music. You drive that song good or bad.

Confidence. You can be a nervous wreck and it'll barely show on an instrument, vocals are the most intimate instrument. Every ounce of emotion leaks out in your voice so if your scared you sound scared. If your freaked your going to tense your vocal chords and sound like blah at best. Be the song, if it's a sad song be sad. If it's a rocking tune be up and energenic. If it's in your face be a bad a$$ Beeach right. If it's vulnerable be vulnerable. Take on the magic of song and channel it.

Vocal lessons never hurt anybody. I've worked with a few singers who swear by them.

Hope this helps.

All else fails swig lemon juice and or whysky depending on your age for a Gene Simmons/Bon Scott/Janice Joplin kinda sound :)|||Try Brett Manning's Singing Success. Look at his "free stuff" section. He is a hugely respected vocal coach and lots of celebrities work with him. You should also work on your ear. I have also found that using aptuner (it's free) to check the pitch at which I am singing helped a lot in the beggining but I don't know if that specificaly is a problem for you or not. Brett Manning is excellent for perfecting your vocal style.|||Start smoking

How are the bands Boston and Rush not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Thats just sad in my opinion...

Boston and Rush are LEGENDARY how are they not in the rock and roll hall of fame???|||the very concept of a rock and roll hall of fame is lame. it's nothing more than jann wenner's personal fan club. this is the same guy who's rolling stone magazine back in the early 70's said led zeppelin was pretty much the worst rock band in existence. try to get him or any of the critics that panned zeppelin back then to admit that now though.|||Unfortunately i think they must be waiting for the year 2112 to let RUSH into the HoF

|||Because getting into the Rock Hall is not based strictly on record sales or being legendary. It is often about how much they influenced later acts, which is why entrance isn't based strictly on record sales, and requires a long wait before nomination.

Lets be honest, neither really changed music that much. They aren't radically different from what came before and they didn't cause major changes afterwards.

edit: Let's notice the difference. Zeppelin is named by another answerer, although I'm confused as to how the band proves his claimed point. Nobody can deny the influence that Zeppelin had as you can look at dozens of arena rock bands that followed in their footsteps. You can also look at the number of times later bands who set out to deliberately recreate that style of ROCK band.

Rush being Canadian? Hardly a factor as there are plenty of Canadians in the Hall.|||Well, it is a matter of importance. They were amazing bands but the committee that inductees them into the hall of fame has to choose from bands that deserve the place but that were before those bands. They have to make an album by a certain date and the committee naturally will choose some bands over others, like Led Zeppelin was inducted in 95' and made their first album in 69'. But Black Sabbath was inducted in 06' and made their first album in 71' . So they miss bands to get the most influential ones and then go back and get the equally famous but less influential bands.|||First one is easy. How many Boston albums can you name? 3?? And Third Stage should have been flushed down the toilet before it was ever released. I think they wrote about 3 songs and arranged each about three ways. My Destination and Amanda are the same song, not even different arrangement, just different tempo.

The second one, Rush, you got me. They belong.|||RUSH will probably get there eventually but I don't know about Boston...their career kind of waned out way before Rush.Have you ever checked out "La Villa Strangiata @ pinkpop79" on youtube....my all time favorite Rush.Rush will make it in a few years.|||No actually you should be glad that those bands aren't in the phony Rock 'n Roll HOF that has the [ WTF?] likes of Madonna and friggin rappers in it along with many other lame people and groups who could hardly be called rockers|||Rush will be eventually. Should KISS be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame?

KISS has been around for over 30 years and i think its about time they get inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. all four original members, ace, peter, gene, and paul would perform at the induction... 2010 rock and roll hall of fame... KISS?|||Not before Alice Cooper is inducted. I believe that the original theatrical shock rocker who paved the way for bands such as Kiss should be inducted first! Then Kiss should definitely be inducted. Awesome concerts!|||They would get my vote..so my answer is YES !! You gotta dig deeper than just "Rock N Roll All Night" on the radio. I, like many musicians, wouldn't have even picked up a guitar if it wasn't for ACE back in my youth. Commercial success?...well that's an easy one for KISS...plus I believe they are the all time top gold (if not platinum too) record sellers, you don't get that title from just make up and merchandising.

I don't think you would see all 4 original members back...we'd have to deal with the ACE "imposter" they've been using.|||I will kindly disagree with you. KISS was nothing more than a glam band, their popularity is based on their costumes and live shows. their music does not have enough quality to merit induction into the rock and roll hall of fame, so i will have to say definitely no.|||You bet i do. They have some good songs, but to be honest, I was never a really big fan until i saw them live. They should get in for their performance abilities. They put on a hell of a show. In fact, the best i have seen to date or ever. I do however agree that they shouldnt be in before Alice.|||the rock n roll hall of fame is bull...some of the inductees are just ridiculous...as for your question, YES! Kiss absolutely deserves to be in a rock and roll hall of fame but not the one they have right now...|||I LOVE Kiss!

They are brilliant, they were a bit Glam Rock, and it worked well for them and everyone that loved them and they have had immense success that i think would surprise many!!!

So hell yeah!!!!! x|||Only if the rock and roll hall of fame is inducted into the corporate sponsored hall of bullcrap...|||They should get in no doubt. I dont think you would see the original four get together on stage to jam though. Way to much bad blood at this point.|||Yes i think they should be inducted into R%26amp;R hall of fame. What political/social/economic issues influenced rock and roll music?

I need three examples. The ideas I have so far are slave music and or blues rock? I am so stuck any help/examples would be greatly appreciated!|||War is a big factor in music like all the anti war songs of the mid and late 60's against the Vietnam war.|||As of late, I've noticed lots of punk/alternative bands being influenced by political issues - mainly war. I'm not so sure if it'll answer your question all too well, but bands such as Anti-Flag and Strike Anywhere focus largely on politics and the way the government has a horrible habit of lying to people. Bands like Bikini Kill and Bratmobile as well as Heavens to Betsy (they were Riot Grrrl bands back in the 90s) wrote and focused largely on people's view of women. It was both political and a social commentary.

So really.. it depends on what is important to a musician; what they feel strongly about and want to get across in their music.|||Vietnam War influenced psychodelic 60's rock.

Iraq War influenced the liberal-punk (Green Day, RATM) movements.

PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center, founded by Tipper Gore, who's mission was basically to censor music that they found offensive) influenced RATM and other Anti-Censorship musicians.|||There can be many issues that influence music. Joey DeMaio (Manowar) claimed that Richard Wagner might be the great-grandfather of metal, because of his massive orchestration and epic storytelling (although I find his operas a snoozefest). I disagree with him, but a lot of classical composers were an inspiration for neo-classical and power metal.|||* Django Reinhardt created rock guitar structures.

* Stephen Foster as the great-etc.-grandfather of popular music.

* Sousa's instrumentation was loud and brash; I've got to believe that inspired something.

* Does Hank Williams Sr. count? Lots of his songs were covered by early rockers.

* Charlie Parker's development of bebop.

Many others, but I'll leave this here so others can play!|||The inner bluesy pains, the instrumental mastery, the joyous expressions, and the soulful vibrations of many a musical geniuses have contributed to the evolution of what we recognize today as Rock and Roll. ... Why is listening to Rock and Roll unChristianly?

Just wondering why Christians have in the past reffered to rock as the sounds of Satan.

Also, Stairway to Heaven does not have Satanic messages when played backwards.|||Becuase the general attitude of rock n roll is rebellion and Christians really only like conformity.|||Because everything that is awesome is against God.|||Because Christians don't know how to rock out |||Because god hates cool people.

Robert Plant wasn't very wholesome in the 70's.....|||Because it was new and anything new and different is evil and scary to some people.|||It caused people to dance. Dancing was considered sin because it could cause someone to lust.

That's why my church used to think Rock and roll was wrong.|||Because (most) Christians think that anything that does not say God in it 50000000000 times is praising Satan. And everything that is awesome they seem to relate with satanism and hell. They just hate us cool people. O, and rock songs like the word hate. And hate is a bad word according to them.|||Christians used to be anti dance and anti music as well. They thought it to be a sin as well as the old Muslims. The they said "as long as it praises the lord, it's ok"

Some rock is Christian, but remember, most priests are old men who listened to Marilyn Monroe or Doris Day.|||ALL songs have "satanic messages" when played backwards, even Christian ones. You know why? Because songs are meant to be played in forward, no reverse. So when people listen to them backwards they listen for words that aren't there.

Also Rock and Roll isn't unchristianly. The people who say that are often older people who find the music offensive because they're uptight. There is even Christian rock now. But that being said there is a lot of rock that is not God honoring music. That doesn't mean it's satanic or evil, just that it doesn't honor God. That doesn't mean it bashes God, some songs and groups do but not most. In the end it's your decision on whether to listen to Rock or not and whether it's a sin or not. I love rock music and I'm not giving it up. I don't feel convicted about it at all. It's good music. I don't listen to anything bad, just not everything I listen to says God or Jesus in it. That's all, it's a personal preference.|||Yeah I don't know it kind of confuses me. As far as the lifestyle many musicians from other kinds of music lead similar lifestyles. Not all rock is like Yay sex drugs w00t w00t party!!!! Especially now a lot of new stuff is relatively boring and pure.|||Today, at almost any "heavy-metal'' rock concert one can hear the audience being exhorted to rape and murder in the name of Satan. "We come bursting through your bodies

Rape your helpless soul

Transform you into a creature

Merciless and cold

We force you to kill your brother

Eat his blood and brain

Shredding flesh and sucking bone

Till everyone's insane

We are pestilent and contaminate

The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to Be Square," a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. In the stone age, there was nothing but rocks. And then somebody invented the wheel. And then things really began to roll. Rock and roll. Why complicate it?

How has music since the 1950's rock and roll shaped how we are as a society today?

soo, how did the beginning of rock n roll in the 1950's and music until now affect how we are as a society and our morals. i am doing a paper on this for history and i just needed some ideas:)

thanks!|||Playboy magazine and Rock and Roll music first came about in the 1950’s. This started the change of sexual attitudes, as rock symbolized freedom and rebellion, and playboys “ideals” included high living and wild parties. Many of the older generations saw this as “the work of the devil”, but the teenagers loved it. Movies, music, magazines, and clothes—all reflected teenage interests and concerns that were exceptionally different from those of their parents. Teens were eager consumers; with the average estimated weekly income of $10.55. Just prior to the start of World War II that was the average weekly income for an entire family. With more money came a certain degree of independence—less parental support was needed for socializing and purchasing.

This continues to grow in society today, as teenagers have more and more money and are rebelling against their parents.|||It left the Eternal Mark of creativity in music considering music has been around for thousands of years.
