How are the bands Boston and Rush not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Thats just sad in my opinion...

Boston and Rush are LEGENDARY how are they not in the rock and roll hall of fame???|||the very concept of a rock and roll hall of fame is lame. it's nothing more than jann wenner's personal fan club. this is the same guy who's rolling stone magazine back in the early 70's said led zeppelin was pretty much the worst rock band in existence. try to get him or any of the critics that panned zeppelin back then to admit that now though.|||Unfortunately i think they must be waiting for the year 2112 to let RUSH into the HoF

|||Because getting into the Rock Hall is not based strictly on record sales or being legendary. It is often about how much they influenced later acts, which is why entrance isn't based strictly on record sales, and requires a long wait before nomination.

Lets be honest, neither really changed music that much. They aren't radically different from what came before and they didn't cause major changes afterwards.

edit: Let's notice the difference. Zeppelin is named by another answerer, although I'm confused as to how the band proves his claimed point. Nobody can deny the influence that Zeppelin had as you can look at dozens of arena rock bands that followed in their footsteps. You can also look at the number of times later bands who set out to deliberately recreate that style of ROCK band.

Rush being Canadian? Hardly a factor as there are plenty of Canadians in the Hall.|||Well, it is a matter of importance. They were amazing bands but the committee that inductees them into the hall of fame has to choose from bands that deserve the place but that were before those bands. They have to make an album by a certain date and the committee naturally will choose some bands over others, like Led Zeppelin was inducted in 95' and made their first album in 69'. But Black Sabbath was inducted in 06' and made their first album in 71' . So they miss bands to get the most influential ones and then go back and get the equally famous but less influential bands.|||First one is easy. How many Boston albums can you name? 3?? And Third Stage should have been flushed down the toilet before it was ever released. I think they wrote about 3 songs and arranged each about three ways. My Destination and Amanda are the same song, not even different arrangement, just different tempo.

The second one, Rush, you got me. They belong.|||RUSH will probably get there eventually but I don't know about Boston...their career kind of waned out way before Rush.Have you ever checked out "La Villa Strangiata @ pinkpop79" on youtube....my all time favorite Rush.Rush will make it in a few years.|||No actually you should be glad that those bands aren't in the phony Rock 'n Roll HOF that has the [ WTF?] likes of Madonna and friggin rappers in it along with many other lame people and groups who could hardly be called rockers|||Rush will be eventually. Boston maybe, but doubtful. Although they had a big impact with their first album, they kind of fizzled out after that.|||Well Rush is Canadian, and I don't know about Boston|||Jann Wenner %26amp; his prog hating buddies|||I agree ^
