When something (such as rock and roll) influences the country economically, what does that mean?

I am doing a research paper and I have to figure out how rock and roll influenced the US socially, economically, and politically. I don't understand what it means by how it influences the country economically. HELP?|||It means that the country has regressed to an infantile state and is doomed.
