What are the differences in the second phase of English rock and roll? How did Jimi Hendrix, an American, fit into the English rock scene? I wrote about this but wanted to check my facts.|||Decent article- extract:

"The early rock era lasted until the early 1960s, by which time it was beginning to seem a dead end. New blood and strength came thanks to the Beatles, four young men from Liverpool who revolutionised the form with their song writing.................................鈥?area they touched on was psychedelia, music inspired by the use of drugs, and that found its full flowering in 1967 with the hippies in San Francisco."

However, what I can tell you is that when Hendrix went on-stage at a Cream concert in the late 1960s and started playing guitar, Eric Clapton walked off and asked someone "Is he always that f***ing good?"

Hendrix merged into the 'British Blues Invasion' scene, but at a frantic turbo-charged level.|||i think rock is rock.Jimi Hendrix.had to come to England to make it.and the English still love him to this day.and it was a guy from an English band that spoted him and got him on to the greatness he was.
