Commonly, The Crew Cuts get the nod from those in the know with their hit "Sha Boom" as being the first rock song. I personally go with Chuck Berry and a few of his first efforts as the spark which lit the rock and roll fire. Alan Freed gets the credit for coining the term "Rock And Roll" so how do you deny him as the pioneer promoter.
