Who hates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

I hate the rock and roll hall of fame. It's run by basically everybody who is/was in the Rolling Stone and is extremely biased. Bands who have pioneered in the genre: KISS, Iron Maiden, The Misfits, Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, etc have not been given fair treatment and haven't made it in. This is all based upon the RRHF's own opinions and obsession with punk bands, and not based upon the opinions of the people. And since when have Madonna or Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five ever been rock?|||I agree with you. The Hall of Fame is an arbitrary and needless thing for something like rock music, which isn't judged by championships or statistics, but by one's individual tastes and experiences. The Hall of Fame is basically a marketing creation designed to a) get a lot of rare merchandise in the same place, so that b) people will spend money to see it, and c) give people something to do in Cleveland.

And while I would argue that punk's foundation was extremely important for bands like The Misfits and Iron Maiden, and that Grandmaster Flash was a product of Rock and Roll and very important to the musical culture, I don't think there needs to be a governing body canonizing certain bands into a "Hall" over others.|||ever herd of a little gem called "like a prayer"? lol
